Inspirational Quotes
& Stories: God
If, through your perception, you are experiencing any type of negativity
it is due to negative conditioning by the ego. The ego will always
respond first in any given situation, because this is how you have been
trained and taught. You have been taught that the ego's world is the
real world, and thus you think like it, and think it normal and correct
to behave this way. If instead of listening to the ego you align
yourself with God first, you will gain clarification about what it is
you want to accomplish, which will allow you to take control and handle
any situation in a way that serves your highest good. I like to ask
myself what Jesus would do in my place. What would Jesus' goal be in
this situation? How would Jesus think, act and react? Again, I would
like to remind you that Jesus is simply the example that I use because I
feel a connection to Him. You can also use Him as an example, or you may
equally and just as successfully use whichever "self-actualized being"
you feel the most connected to.

Brother, you look toward the heavens and wonder how I feel about you. So
let me simply say this: I am proud of you. I rejoice in you. You are the
expression of the mind of God. God expressed Himself and created you.
Can you even begin to allow yourself to understand what I am saying? God
expressed Himself and created you. Please listen carefully: God
expressed Himself and created you.

You were created in His image! Just saying this makes me feel good. Any
time I even begin to think of judging another human being, I remind
myself of this phrase, and I am again connected to my source. I remind
myself that the true essence of every individual, regardless of how well
he chooses to hide it, is that he was created in His image, that he is
the physical manifestation of God on Earth. This is a beautiful and
powerful statement. This single thought feels right to many of us, and
therefore we are at peace with it. But I do see a division between what
people believe "His image" is, and how they live their lives. This to me
is one of the most important questions you will ever answer to yourself.
The answer to this question then becomes the basis of your belief
system. Is God a God of love or fear, of pardon or punishment, of peace
or pain, of forgiveness or judgment? These are the questions you must
search your heart to answer. The answer can be that either God is a God
of love, pardon, peace and forgiveness, or He is a God of fear,
punishment, pain and judgment. It can be either one of those two, but
not both, for what is all encompassing can have no opposite. It can only
be answered by your heart, for here there lies a place untouched by this
world, a place that remembers its source. This question, if asked of
most people's hearts, is quickly answered. Most people answer that God
is a God of love, peace and forgiveness. Yet, if your heart answers this
way, and you live your life another way, it creates confusion. Such
confusion is disguised by many other names such as judgment, stress,
regret, sadness, anxiety, uncertainty and anger. All of these emotions
have the state of confusion as their source. Confusion is the result
when you react to love with such emotions.

Do you believe God loves the person who says four Hail Mary's a day more
than the person who says two? Do you think God loves the saint more than
the sinner? If a Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Catholic and a Jew stood in
front of God, who would you say He loves most? These three questions are
really just one question, and it is this: Have you actually convinced
yourself that God plays favorites?

When God looks at you, He sees His perfect expression manifested in you.
He has no need to see your past, or imagine your future, for that which
is perfect, simply is, and will always be. You need do nothing but feel
His presence to remember that this is truth. If you allow yourself to
look into His eyes, you will remember all you have always been and will
always be. He has offered you a present, and that present is your
brother. If, in the moment, you allow yourself to see your brother as
God sees you, all illusions of the past or future will simply disappear.
They will affect you no longer, and they will be gone.

The same night I wrote the amnesia exercise, I had an OBE, and found
myself assisting lost souls (souls that are dead, but don't know it). I
was having problems getting their full attention, so I started praying
to God for assistance from Jesus. Suddenly I turned around and there He
was, dressed in a white robe. I remember that my first thought was,
"Wow, Jesus has really nice hair." I mean, he had a full head of long
thick hair, more like a woman's than a man's thinner long hair. Yes, I
admit this was a strange first thought; then again, if you had my hair,
or lack thereof, the thought would not be so foreign. Anyway, I'm sure
He got a good laugh out of it. He began guiding me into an auditorium,
so I followed. I had had a few conscious past experiences with Him.
Nevertheless, I got overly excited at being in His presence, and found
myself back in my body. You see, when you're out of the body, you travel
by thought, and so you have to be focused on the moment or else you're
back in your body or off somewhere else. I became a little upset at my
lack of focus but I knew He would understand and that sooner or later I
would experience Him again. I would not have to wait long.
